Fibromyalgia is a common and chronic disorder. It affects between two and 10 per cent of the general population, but because fibromyalgia can be difficult to diagnose, its prevalence is likely underestimated. Fibromyalgia is characterized by widespread muscle pain, fatigue and multiple tender points, but some people may also experience symptoms like sleep disturbances, depression, morning stiffness or morning headaches.
It’s often important for people living with fibromyalgia to manage the condition as best as possible, as it can be helpful to get them back to the activities they enjoy. It's all about "Reconnecting to What Matters."
The Chronic Pain Association, National ME/FM Action Network, Canadian Pain Coalition and FM/CFS Canada, in conjunction with Eli Lilly Canada Inc. held information sessions across Ontario to speak about this issue. These sessions gave patients and their families the chance to learn more about fibromyalgia and to hear about some of the latest information and resources available.

Sometimes it can be tough to explain what you are going through to your doctor. Click here for more information to help you talk to your doctor about whether or not your symptoms could be from fibromyalgia.
